Home Watch Our Cartoonist

Steve is the inspiration behind the Guru in a Bottle character.

Steve trained as a professional cartoonist and has the rare gift of combining traditional methods of illustration with computer generated imagery to create compelling and memorable advertising and communication campaigns for a wide variety of public sector and private sector clients over the last decade.

He's the 'Cartoonist in Resident' at the Cartoon Museum which incidentally is around the corner from our office opposite the British Museum, London. Steve teaches his art at various libraries, schools and galleries across the UK, inspiring the next generation of illustrators. He's the author of the best selling The Cartoonist's Workshop, published in 2004 and The Computer Cartoon Kit that was published in 2006.

Steve is also the co-founder, along with cult cartoonist David Lloyd (V for Vendetta) of the Cartoon Classroom that provides a means of centralising all information available on the study of cartooning and sequential art in the UK and Ireland.

“Training is a serious business but not so serious that you can’t have a bit of fun, which I think comes out in the Guru in a Bottle character. This gives the company a very unique and friendly approach and makes the whole training experience much more effective.”

Steve Marchant, Cartoonist and Illustrator of Guru in a Bottle.
